ABOUT

Longtime resident of Globeville, Romelia Carrillo is an artisan and teacher of many medias.  She enjoys painting and drawing as well as working with papier-mâché and making a variety of upcycled crafts. She has been an artist for her entire life, but worked many years as an art instructor at the 5090 Broadway Recreation Center, formally know as Stapleton in Globeville.  As well she has and continues to donate her talents to numerous church and community events. Birdseed Collective and Alto Gallery wish to recognize that Romelia has had an immeasurable, positive, and inspiring impact on the Globeville community, through her generosity, love for community, passion for art, and dedication to teaching youths.
