About
After being a part of the same cohort of Land Line artists-in-residence at the Denver Botanic Gardens in 2024, collage and mural artist Devin Urioste proposed getting the five artists back together again for a group exhibition. Alto Gallery in the springtime, part of the RiNo ArtPark adjacent to the South Platte River, was a natural fit to host the show. Composed of works completed during and after the residency, Botanical Bonds mixes an array of styles, media, and subject matter to showcase the artists’ collective experiences and artistic research on the botanical side of nature. In addition, the exhibition reflects on the bonds formed throughout the residency, not only with plants but with each other. Urioste’s bold and raw collage, Eichelberger’s sleek sculptures, Molina’s folky mixed media, Owens’s natural dyed textile works, and Muñoz’s detailed linocut prints combine in a beautiful and varied collection that celebrates connection, investigation, and diversity through a deeper appreciation for plant life.
