About the Artists
Risa’s photos celebrate the beauty of the city, through a focus on architectural detail and blocks of color. She grew up in suburban New York, but draws most of her inspiration from her time spent living in cities and watching them change—New York, Brighton (UK), Quito(Ecuador), and currently Denver. Risa’s background and career in the social sciences(sociology and public health) also informs her approach to art. She lives with three dudes and 47 plants.
Justin Schaffer is an American artist whose interest in art and self-expression began with skateboarding as an adolescent. It was this introduction to the DIY scene, punk rock culture, and homemade skate videos that continues to inspire and inform his art today. Justin's photography is an admiration for the details that often go unnoticed. At play in his photos is the beauty he finds in minimalism, patterns, and textures. He currently lives in Denver, Colorado striving to create things and live a great story.
